Early Learning Development

This session will provide an overview on The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACEs) and the impact of ACEs overall. Additionally, the presenter will discuss the relationship between ACEs and brain development, cognition, language development and issues related to immigration.

An overview of how life experiences have a role in shaping brain development, and what we can do to make an atmosphere to create strong brain development.

Dr. Tim Odegard (MTSU Chair of Excellence in Dyslexic Studies and MTSU Professor) begins the 2016 MTSU Dyslexia Conference with a basic question - “What is Dyslexia?”.

He addresses myths about Dyslexia and cognitive processes of reading.
